In September 2019, Elementary school Zapruđe hosted a seven-day meeting of teachers from all partner countries - Estonia, Finland, Spain, Germany, Hungary and Croatia.

In addition to holding project meetings at which previous project activities are analyzed and guidelines for continuation are agreed upon, the topic of this meeting was basically - Social sensitivity and dialogue.
In order to meet the project goals, in the Ministry of Science and Education, we organized an all-day event called:
Help, support, include - integration practice in Croatia
Numerous guests successfully presented the content with which we tried to show what is the practice of working with different groups of children and youth through the activities of different institutions, and especially care for the most vulnerable groups and especially groups seeking international protection and assistance.
The following guests and topics were part of the mentioned event:

Ministry of Science and Education: Education system in the Republic of Croatia, inter-institutional cooperation and reform processes.

City Office of Education: Inclusion of children seeking international protection in the school system

Croatian Employment Service: Vocational guidance of children and youth students and active youth employment policy measures

Gustav Krklec Elementary School: Asylum seekers in primary school - examples of good practice

AreYouSyrious Association / Volunteer Center Zagreb: Work experiences and support for refugees

Blue Phone Association: Presentation of counselling for children, youth and their families through the work of the association and various projects aimed at children

JFF Association - presentation of the work of the association which, through the organization of the Festival of Tolerance and other artistic programs and projects, works on the development of a tolerant society, prevention of discrimination, racism, violation of human rights, especially of minority groups.

In addition to this thematic day, with the same goal, we organized a visit to the SOS Children's Village Lekenik where we got a detailed insight into the way of life, work of children and adults - beneficiaries of this type of assistance.
We had the opportunity, through very impressive presentations of all associates, to hear about all the activities and support system that employees carry out independently or in cooperation with other institutions, associations and various volunteers. On that occasion, we invited children living in the village to be our guests at the Science Evening we are organizing in December.
We look forward to this meeting in advance!
In that week, student teams of our school organized a guided tour and presentation, showed the guests the space and the teaching process of a typical school day in Zapruđe elementary school.
In particular, we organized more detailed information and introduction to the way of working with children with various difficulties, through the work of the professional service and the model of teaching assistants.
The guests had the opportunity to get to know something from the history and culture of our city and country through organized city tours and a visit to the island of Krk.
The reason for choosing the island of Krk is to get acquainted with the Glagolitic alphabet as an introduction to the workshop held at the school, on the last day of the meeting. It is a workshop Small Glagolitic printing house where participants decorated wooden boxes with Glagolitic letters, cut out letters from potatoes and printed individual samples.
On the island of Krk, the guests visited the islet of Košljun, the immortelle farm, Jurandvor, Baška and Vrbnik.
In addition to the Small Glagolitic Printing House, a very successful Music and Dance Workshop was held at the school in collaboration with students and prof. a musical culture where guests could get acquainted with traditional music and dance and even learn some dance steps.
The students and their leaders - professors of Croatian language and literature, prepared the students for a very interesting presentation of the work of the school Debate Club and a demonstration debate in English.
In the school garden - named Vrtograd, the Erasmus+ Tree of Friendship was planted that week as a symbol of mutual connection and togetherness that will remain permanently in our garden.
The participants of the meeting were very satisfied with this visit to our country, both because of its beauty, and because of the rich and diverse content prepared for this meeting with the cooperation of many employees and students of the School.
During the project meetings of teachers, there was a lot of talk about how to organize and implement the last project meeting, which awaits us at the end of March in Germany and Belgium.
